Walk in Integrity Devotional
But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me and be merciful unto me. (Psalm 26:11 KJV)
Does anyone know what the word “integrity” means?
Integrity means “to stick to a code of moral values”. Other words that describe it are character, honesty, rightness, and righteousness.
So what does it mean to “Walk in Integrity”?
Read Psalm 26
In this chapter David list things of integrity he’s done.
- He trusts in God (v. 1)
- He walks in truth. (v. 3)
- He will thank God for His wondrous works (v. 7)
He also mentions things that are not righteous or character building
- Proud people (v. 4)
- Liars or Dissemblers (v. 4)
- Evildoers and wicked (v. 5)
- People that do mischief (v. 10)
- People that bribe (v. 10)
How do you walk in integrity?
It’s doing the things you know are right. Even if you know there’s no one watching. Because God is always watching.
It’s telling the truth always. Even if it makes you look bad or makes your friends upset at you.
It’s standing up to your friends when they want to do something you know you shouldn’t do and saying you won’t be a part of it.
It’s being humble and admitting that you mess up sometimes.
It’s not telling that juicy story you heard because you don’t know how it is to be the one in the story.
It’s saying “As for me, I will be honest. I will do right.”
And you don’t have to do it all alone. Verse 1 says “I have trusted in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.” God will help you do the right thing. If you trust Him, He will help you to walk in integrity.
